In a remarkable feat of youthful innovation, 18-year-old Zach Yadegari, co-founder and CEO of Cal AI, has taken the health tech world by storm with his AI-powered nutrition app.
Launched in May 2024, Cal AI allows users to track calories and nutrients by simply snapping a photo of their food, leveraging advanced AI models from Anthropic and OpenAI for 90% accuracy.
The app has skyrocketed to over 5 million downloads in just eight months, generating more than $2 million in revenue last month alone.
Alongside co-founder Henry Langmack, also 18, and a small team, Yadegari has turned a high school project into a multi-million-dollar enterprise, earning widespread acclaim with a 4.8-star rating across app stores.
This teenage entrepreneur’s journey from coding at age seven to disrupting the fitness industry highlights a new era of Gen-Z innovation.
